Service was great. There wasn’t seating but bar and communal seating were available. Came here on a Saturday on a whim, not too hungry but had to get some protein! Ordered the brunch board, more than enough for 1 seating! Crackers were rectangular larger than typical, very generous heaping of ham and smoked salmon, all different kinds of whipped cheese and grated cheese, love the cheese that was grated and had cranberries, 2 warm biscuits, shaved cucumbers, pickled onions, apple cinnamon spread - just great value good for $22. Will definitely come back for dinner.

Amber Ox is hands down one of the best local spots around. You can really taste the difference in their food everything is made with ingredients sourced from local farms or prepared in-house, and it absolutely shows in both quality and flavor.
One thing to keep in mind is that the menu changes, so it’s worth checking online before you go. It just means everything is fresh and seasonal, which makes every visit a little different and exciting.
If you’re going on a Thursday, don’t miss the Beer Can Chicken special it is phenomenal. The portion is generous enough to share, or you can easily take some home for later.
On top of the amazing food, the drinks are just as impressive, and the staff is friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Overall, it’s a great experience every time. Highly recommend checking it out!

We visited on a Monday night without a reservation so we sat outside. It was a little chilly and at times the live music loud. However, the excellent cocktails, food and service more than made up for it! We would definitely go here again when visiting Williamsburg!

Excellent food, service and vibe. Mulled cider and butternut squash soup warmed me on a chilly day and the pork chop was delicious. I sat at the bar where Samira took great care of me and I had a bird’s eye view of how well the staff works together (hands please). A well run kitchen always shows in the food.

Great food, great staff, great atmosphere, great service, fair price. Clean will return and will recommend to friends and family. The wings are amazing. Get reservations. We did not have reservations, we sat at the bar and watched the food come out, the hamburgers, the pork chops, the salads, everything looked really good, and great portion sizes.

What a special eatery! The area is sooo quaint. I ordered a biscuit board although I couldn’t eat any of the spreads I enjoyed the butter and biscuit as a starter (I asked before ordered so I was not surprised my companions enjoyed them)#allergy girl. The biscuits are dense and a good starter. I had a burger on their homemade bun served with fries. The burger was delicious. Prepared as ordered and served with fries (ask for crispy- mine were rather limp but nevertheless delicious). There is a room called “The Study” that requires reservations and is spectacular. A different menu and quite cozy with couches, chairs and lavish decor. I recommend reservations for dinner at Amber Ox.

Oak smoked wings and the cured ham sampler appetizers were enough to feed two but luckily the entree (Haashroom ravilio)we ordered wasn’t terribly big to finish. My husband said the cured ham sampler was “the best thing that’s happened to him in awhile.” We enjoyed all the different combinations you could make the crackers and pimento cheese was our favorite. The pickles were delicious too! Highly recommended trying to wings! It’s been awhile that we’ve been to a restaurant where we loved everything we got. We greatly appreciate farm to table restaurants that source their food locally from high quality places it makes a huge difference in the food. Shout out to our server Anthony he was wonderful & helpful with the menu.

Excellent restaurant! Congratulations to the chef and the kitchen team for such a clever, well-executed menu.
We tried the scallops, the “chicken in a can,” and the patatas bravas—everything was absolutely delicious.
The only thing I might do differently next time is skip the potatoes if dining as a party of two, simply because the portion is quite large. That said, they’re definitely worth ordering if you’re with a bigger group.
The service was also great. When we asked for a box, they carefully packed our food and even labeled it with the cooking date. Such a thoughtful detail! I am surprised they don’t have a Michelin star yet!
I would definitely go back.

We made reservations online for 415pm. When we arrived we were able to switch our table to outside. The staff were very accommodating. They have a nice patio with umbrellas, lights and flowers. It's all very elevated. We ordered the biscuit board- I highly recommend! The lemon whip was so good! The kids had chicken strips. I had shrimp and grits and my husband got the bacon burger. We are all very happy. The wait staff were all so friendly. And they had live music, which was a nice touch.

This establishment is top notch! We had the biscuit board and poutine as an appetizer followed by smoked oyster soup as well as shrimp and grits. Everything was mouth watering good. A taste of explosion in every bite. Service was fantastic and the atmosphere was fun and laid back. We had a mid-afternoon dinner in the bar area. Relaxed, and cozy was the vibe with a hint of upscale. This is a place that should be on your list for sure!
